About Us
Theta Chi
Founded in 1856, Theta Chi is one of the oldest men’s college fraternities in North America. Eta Phi Chapter
Theta Chi pioneered the Greek community at Oakland University. Our founding members came together as a group called Delta Alpha Sigma to improve campus social activities and build an involved student community. We are extremely lucky to offer housing in the Historic District of Pontiac. Our house was built in 1914 by Oliver J. Beaudette, founder of Beaudette Body (later acquired by Fisher Body). Our three-story house offers 16 bedrooms with a max capacity of 23 brothers. We purchased the house in 1986 and remain the only Greek organization at OU to own a house.
Our Alpha Class was chartered in 1981 with 41 founding members and we officially became the Eta Phi Chapter of Theta Chi. Since then, we have initiated over 600 collegiate men. Our collegians are leaders on campus, in the classroom, and on the field. As men of Theta Chi, we strive to become Resolute Men.
Hazing Prevention
Theta Chi Fraternity stands against all forms of hazing at all times and is a Gold Sponsor of HazingPrevention.org. This organization is dedicated to empowering people to prevent hazing, by providing education and resources, and building partnerships with others.
